At its regular meeting at
Hampton Inn on Thursday, the Rappahannock Lions Club was host to its District Governor, Wendall L. Keys on his annual official visit to the club. Governor Keys spoke to. the club of his visit to the International Lions Convention in Tokyo this past summer and of Lions activities worldwide, past and future, as well as making his required inventory and inspection of the activities of the local club. Plans are underway for the annual apple and cider sales by the club on the week-ends of October 11-12, 18-19 and 25-26. The stand will be placed as last year on Mr. Carrigan’s vacant lot just East of town.
Pvt. E2 Lee Edward Keyser is spending a furlough at his home near Washington, Va. He entered the U.S. army on May 14, 1969 and underwent basic training at Fort Dix, N.J. After completing A.I.T. training at Fort Lewis, Washington he was granted a leave September 19.
