The Rappahannock Area Girl Scouts enjoyed roller skating at Old Dominion Skating Rink in Culpeper Saturday. Troops attending were Cadette-Senior troop 380, Jr. troop 547 and Brownie troops 929 and 909 and their leaders, Mrs. Sharon Kilpatrick, Mrs. Judy Tole, Mrs. Jeanie Welch, Mrs. Sarah Brown, Mrs. Brenda Payne, Mrs. Janet Smoot, Mrs. Cindy Andreoni and. Mrs. Wanda Earley. Approximately 90 to 100 girls and adults enjoyed skating. The Scout leaders want to welcome Mrs. Wanda Earley for taking brownie troop as a leader.
The Rappahannock Area is still in need of volunteers for all age groups, they have no leader for the Daisy group which is kindergarden age, there are already about 38 first through third graders which really limit the two troops already formed. More girls in school want to join and need Girl Scouting, but the troops are already overcrowded. So if you can feel in your heart and have a true dedicated feeling to help with' these young girls, please contact a leader and volunteer, it wall be an experience for you as well as a great .help for the girls.
