Gospel music picnic
There will be a gospel music picnic on Saturday, Oct. 7 starting at 12 p.m. at the Rappahannock Recreational Center, near Washington. There will be lots of good food, preaching and music. Music will be provided by the Faith Singers, John Jenkins bluegrass gospel, Free Spirit, The Glory Road Singers, The Melody Makers, Rev. Henry Robinson, Mrs. Lillie Mae Richards and The Servants of Mercy. All are welcome.
Homecoming at Woodville Baptist
Woodville Baptist Church is having a special “Homecoming” service on Sunday, October 1. All of the living former pastors have been invited to have a part in the service. Rev. B. Gale Titchenell, pastor for 20 years, will be the special speaker at the eleven o’clock hour. There will be a variety of special music...Sam Lanham will sing, accompanied by Julie Cutright; Richard Jenkins will sing, accompanied by Mrs. Judy Kenyon; Ted Tedeschi will play the violin, accompanied by Mrs. June Clark at the piano, for all of the congregational singing and also for the prelude and the offertory music.
Every member of the church and the community, along with many former members and friends have received special invitations to attend.
There will be a covered dish meal immediately after the service with the meat, beverages and bread being furnished by the church. All others who attend are requested to bring a vegetable dish, a salad or a dessert. This will be a very special time of fellowship. The Rev. L. Starke Jones is pastor.
