attended a Mother’s Day luncheon in honor of Mrs. George Butler at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Thornhill in Culpeper on Sunday and were joined by Mr. and Mrs. George Butler Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Dickie Clore, Suzanne and Jon.

Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cubbage of Route 615 extended were recent guests of Mrs. Early Sisk in Sperryville.

Belated birthday wishes go out to Mrs. Nina Peyton who celebrated hers last week.

Mrs. Joe Hawkins called on Mr. and Mrs. Ashby Wayland in Washington recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hitt of “Cypress Knolle” were guests last Sunday of Mrs. Frances Eubank in Washington.

Sympathy is extended to the Jenkins family former residents of our area upon the passing of Miss Rena Jenkins.

On Friday the home of Mrs. Frank Duncan was the setting for a joint surprise birthday party honoring Mrs. Cary Thornhill and Mrs. Elizabeth Deane. Ladies who came with food and extending good wishes for a joyful time together were Lottie Johnston, Linda Butler, Virginia Burke, Liz Logas, Jane Thornhill, Wanda Waddell, Bee Butler, Shirley Peneranda, Jean Dempsey, Hilda Winkler, Joyce Bennett and Jean Gibbs.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thornhill of “Grayson Hill” spent Sunday in Vienna to entertain Mrs. Thornhill’s mother.
