Oldway seeks artists

Old way Craft Village, Sperry ville still has a few spaces available for the Oldway demonstrating craft festival on May 26 and 27. Demonstrations are encouraged but not required. Interested artists should call the Oldway office at 987-8474.

McGlothlin reunion planned

All relatives and friends of the McGlothlin family are invited to the annual reunion to be held on May 26, beginning at noon, at the Rappahannock Park on U.S. 211 in Washington. Persons will be recognized for traveling the greatest distance, parents with the most children present, couple married the longest, and the oldest and youngest present. Bring old photographs and musical instruments, along with a covered dish. Participants will be invited to sing following lunch. For more information call LouElla at 937-5024 or Linda at 987-9000.

'Honey I Shrunk The Kids'

The movie Honey I Shrunk The Kids will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20 at 2:00 p.m. each day. Laughed at by his scientific peers, inventor Rick Moranis gives up his shrinking ray run project - until he realizes his kids and the kids next door have been caught in the rays and are lost in the Amazon jungle of a backyard lawn. The four clever and resourceful kids fight off gigantic ants, nibble at a massive cookie and are almost consumed in a spoonful of milk and Cheerios. Perfect for families! The movie is rated PG.

Mother's gathering

A mother’s gathering will be held on Thursday, May 24 beginning at 11 a.m. at Rappahannock Park. Rain date is May 31. A $2 donation will be requested. All mother’s are asked to bring a covered dish. Gallery events

The Middle Street Gallery Artist’s Cooperative has resumed its life Drawing Workshop on Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This is an open workshop with no instructor, but a model is provided. Bring your own art supplies. Janet Kerig will show students how to make a garden basket on May 17, 24 and 31, and lead a workshop on chair caning on May 19. The gallery will also sponsor a •! series of three demonstrations by local artists in their studios. Christopher Goodine, Eric Kvames and Patricia Mullan will talk about their - work.
