Jesus had just gotten through telling his desciples that the law and the prophets were valid only to the time of John the Baptist, but since then the Kingdom of Heaven is being preached, and “every man (person) presseth into it.” Then he began to tell the story of the rich person in hell.
Many people have been revived from clinical death, but do today’s preachers believe them?
Yet Jesus described the Kingdom as a net of fish which was sorted and a field of wheat and tares which was to be left alone by mankind and weeded eventually by the angels. And if everyone eventually chooses and receives eternal life, those references could only be good and bad qaulities in the individual.
We awaken upon one of the Father’s mansion worlds with only the eternally valuable characteristics we have developed during our lives on earth. And one would suspect that very little salvageable stuff is to be found in folks who hold off the inevitable until the very last moment. It might be kind of like being an amnesia victim in heaven — the prodigal son returning home but forgetting who he was.
We ought not to forget that the Spirit of Truth was poured out upon all mankind and since that time everyone is a child of God.
Fear not, little flock, it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. The little flock of earth mortals is just a tiny segment of a vast, innumerable family spread throughout the far-flung cosmos.
