Woman s Club meets May 22

The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, May 22 at 8 p.m. at the home of Marie Davis in Washington.

Dance at CCLC

Rock ‘n Roll fans of all ages are invited to join The Child Care and Learning Center on Saturday, June 2 from 8 p.m. to midnight at CCLC’s pavilion for a rock ‘n roll dance featuring the legendary Ok’s. Admission is $7 per person. Refreshments will be available. No alcoholic beverages please. All proceeds will benefit CCLC. For more information call 675-3237.

High school orientation

All parents of current seventh graders at RCES are invited to an orientation program at the high school on Thursday, May 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guidance counselor Joyce Good-Ewing will explain the options available to next year’s eighth graders, and principal John Toth, assistant principal David Smith and numerous faculty members will also be available to answer questions. Band concert May 24

The Rappahannock County High School concert band will hold its spring concert on Thursday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. “This will be a splendid concert and the public is invited,” said band director David Orth. Admission is free.

Chili cook-off

A sanctioned Superride Chili Cook-off is being planned for this area on May 27. The event will be held at Four Winds Farms in Sperryville. For more information, call Tim Evetts at (703) 765-5097.

Call for entries

The Middle Street Gallery in Washington is looking for artwork for “Images of Rappahannock,” a juried show which will be exhibited this July. Slides of work are due on June 8. Juror for the show is Bill Christenberry and Cynthia Mahan is the curator. Entry forms are available at the Middle St. Gallery, Mountainside Market and by calling the curator at 675-3837.

Father's Day breakfast

The second annual Father’s Day breakfast sponsored by the Flint Hill Fire Department will be held Sunday, June 17 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Plan now to take the family out to a great breakfast/brunch,” said an organizer.

Theatre clean-up May 19

The annual “Clean-Up Day” at the Gay Street Theater will be on Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone who can lend a hand for a few hours will be welcomed! “This is a great opportunity to get “hands on” involvement with the theater, we hope you will be there,” said a RAAC spokesman.

Business Council to meet

The Sperryville Business Council will meet on Sunday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. at The Annex on Main Street. Plans for the Memorial Day festival will be finalized. All members are urged to attend.

CCLC yard sale
