To the editor:
“Kudos” to the students of Rappahannock and Wakefield High Schools who read their own works of poetry at the last session of “Modern American Poets: Their Voices and Visions.”
These students fulfilled those words to a “T”. This was not just “good” poetry — some of it was “great”!
Each student read a poem selected by the audience and fielded questions from the audience. The poise and depth of thought exhibited as each answered tough questions such as “why did you use this word rather than another, or that particular phrase, or what were you actually trying to say?” was impressive indeed.
