By a two-to-one vote, St. Peter’s Catholic Church won Board of Zoning Appeals approval for its special use permit to build a church on a 25-acre piece of property just west of Washington.
Stonewall-Hawthom District representative Sid Gottlieb was absent from last Wednesday’s BZA meeting, and Hampton District representative Alex Sharp asked to be excused from consideration of the application because he is a member of St. Peter’s congregation and had been involved in plans for the church.
