In Ruritan news, the Club voted to participate in the SHARE program whereby food may be purchased at substantial savings provided you perform two hours of community Service a month.

The Club’s building chairman Jim Ryan and others have been working diligently to complete the community center. On Saturday, Mrs. “Micky” Stuart paid a surprise visit to Stuart Field to observe first hand progress being made. She was delighted to see what has been accomplished. She spent a few minutes with workera Jim Ryan, Jerry Curtis, Ed Lawrence, Bill Segrest, and George Kidwell who were working to prepare for concrete over plumbing area. Mrs. Stuart had taken her husband’s cousin Mrs. Marjorie Smith, out with her. Mrs. Smith flew in from Maine to attend the Bradford reunion.

The Club is very appreciative of all assistance, both physical and monetary, from community residents. Work is being accomplished as funds become available. We appreciate that these are hard times for many financially/ Anyone desiring to donate time may call Jim Ryan at 9375177 to get on a roster for future work on the building.

A special thanks to Dick Pierson who designed the beautiful “Citizenof-the-Year” award for the Ruritan Club. Dick has donated numerous hours to service organizations.

March 2 was the Iasi day Giant issued pink register tapes. Get to your school immediately so they may purchase computer equipment.

Happy birthday to Amber Stuart who turned one on Saturday. She was ill last week with pheumonia in one lung.
