Kight or wrong, lert or nght — why didn’t you inform your readers? You seem eager enough to print partisan letters from political p.r. men (on the editorial page and Op-Ed page), but not one word about an incredibly important Congressional vote affecting each and every one of us. Or didn’t you want us to know?
I thought the “Upcoming Events” column listed all events in the county which were brought to your attention, but I’ve learned differently. You say “no available space” to one group while listing another event that is weeks away. Why is one non-profit group not mentioned while another receives space two or three weeks prior to the event?
Not only do you raise questions by your silence, but recent changes in the paper also raise questions.
Why the increase in the price of the newspaper? Is it to cover the cost of front page color photos of auto accidents?
Why the change to two sections? There’s no additional news and two sections to lose.
Personally, I would prefer to pay less and receive a newspaper with no color photos, no ambulance chasing, no easy-to-lose “Lifestyle” section and no glaring ommissions.
So how about it? Give us a paper that serves the entire Rappahannock community and keeps us informed of all local happenings.
