The county and Town of Washington have' approved a francise agreement to be presented to Adelphia. The town has appointed Attorney Frank Reynolds and Treasurer Brad Fisher to represent them in negotiations, and the supervisors asked Mr. McCarthy, Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke, and Stonewall-Hawthom District representative Robert Anderson to represent the county. Mr. Anderson is the only supervisor whose constituents won’t be getting cable TV.
At their meeting the supervisors^ also voted to accede to the highway department’s request to discontinue maintenance on an old section of Route 3 which was replaced by the current U.S. 522 between Huntly and Flint Hill. I
The Huntly dumpsters sit on a7 portion of the old section, but Mr.McCarthy said the state does not intend to abandon and sell the road* section, just to get it off their main-: tenance list. In fact, the highway department has not done any maintenance on that road section in years.
In other business, the board appointed Lucy Ann Maeyer to the Recreational Facilities Board.
