Wakefield School in Huntly will hold its annual Open House and Admissions Testing Day on Saturday, March 16.
The program will begin at 9 a.m.
Parents and students in Grades 1-12 who are interested in the school or who wish to take the Admissions test should arrive at the school promptly at 9 a.m.
Parents of pre-kindergarten or kindergarten students are invited to view the program and visit with the teachers at which time they may schedule an interview for children applying for the pre-school/kindergarten programs.
The school is located on U.S. 522, approximately 10 miles south of Front Royal.
Tim Inglis of Washington has won Wakefield School’s Geography Bee and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship.
Students participating in the Wakefield bee answered oral questions on geography.
This represent the first round in the third annual National Geography Bee, which is sponsored by National Geographic WORLD, the society’s magazine for children.
Inglis and winners from all participating schools will now take a written test. Up to 100 of the top scorers in each state will be eligible to compete in the state bee on April 5. The National Geographic finals will be held in Washington, D.C. at the end of May.
The varsity basketball team competed in the annual Delaney Conference Championship which was held at Word of Life school.
