Rappahannock News Staff Writer * Sperryville’s Woodsmoke Cafe continues its new Friday night live music series this week with singersongwriter Vicky Pratt Keating.
The cafe, began last week with folk singer Larry Daily and continues the rest of this month with Moses Gentry’s country blues (March 15), and folk singers Bob Trainer (March 22) and Bob MacDougal (March 29).
Ms. Keating moved to Sperryville last July. Bom and raised in “various D.C. suburbs,” Ms. Keating comes to Rappahannock from theNorthem Virginia and D.C. nightclub scene, where she has performed at the Washington Folk Festival, the Birchmere, the Bayou, the 8-by10 and other clubs and festivals.
Her focus is on songwriting, but she also eryoys performing, both solo and with bands AV and daddylonglegs.
“I get more pleasure out of creating a song than anything, anything. It’s the biggest high — ■performing is too. When I go to play Jit’s like a meditation.
