Also there is no money in the budget for capital outlay, a savings of $13,860 from the current budget, and funds for repairing and replacing equipment have been cut by 56,097. However, $6,000 has been added at each school for repairing and replacing computers.
There are other additions to the audget. Employees are scheduled to ?et salary increases.
The beginning teacher’s salary and that paid to teachers with one or ;wo years experience has been increased by $200 to $22,037. Other teachers will get the step increases they would have received under the current salary schedule. At the high and of the salary sclae additional steps have been added and the salary at the top, for a teacher with 25 ar more years experience has been ncreased by $802, to $32,856.
The budget includes three percent salary increases for bus drivers, custodians, and cafeteria workers, reacher’s aides are scheduled to get hree percent salary increases and also will be beginning to work into a salary scale with step increases.
Salaries for administrators are scheduled to increase by $220 to 5240, and they and teachers who qualify are budgeted for increased supplements for holding masters decrees.
The budget also calls for increasng by 10 percent the amount contributed for employee health nsurance, but Dr. Gangel said he las heard that the premiums may increase by 14 percent.
An additional $29,500 is included n the budget to purchase a second school bus.
Dr. Gangel said the changes he is proposing would be acceptable for me or two years, but he would not recommend these things for a long term.
