Ruth Richards was the only member of the public to speak on other budget matters. She suggested the supervisors put back into the budget fluids for the shelter for abused women and children. She noted that none of the supervisors are women and suggested that it is important that the shelter’s budget have funds from each county that benefits from the program.
The supervisors took no action on Mrs. Richards’ suggestion.
The supervisors discussed the budgeted amounts for developing a central trash collection site to replace the dumpsters at Huntly and Scrabble and for trash hauling.
Mr. Massie suggested the board cut those amounts from the budget and require all trash be taken to the landfill. “We need to shut the dumpsters down and no longer have open dumping,” he said.
