Wakefield School in Marshall held its annual Field Day this week where the students, in teams of “Spartans” and “Athenians” battled each other through a day of games, races, and tests of skills. Throughout the day, the teams fought for the first place position and although the Spartans held the lead at times, the Athenians won the trophy at the end of the day. Parents, siblings, teachere, and students watched from the sidelines. The grounds were filled with chairs, blankets, and picnics with various students groups providing snacks, sno-cones, and even water balloons. Field Day is a favorite with all of the students and provides a break before the rigors of final exams.
