“You can’t make a brand new start,” he told the group, “but you can start now and make a brand new ending.” Trooper Settle also showed a video of an FBI agent talking with parents about raising drug-free children.
Anne Kerr, one of the leaders of CCWHY said she hoped the group would also get involved in finding activities to channel the interests of youth away from drugs. She suggested sponsoring more dances, a theater group, newsletters for youth, radio and video production as other activities the group could become involved with.
“It will be a terrible waste if we let this continue,” Mrs. Kensaid. “The cost is astronomical.”
Some of the people attending signed the networking agreement to ensure that parties in their homes are drug- and alcohol-free, and chaperoned.
