It was a gray afternoon as five year old Lisa pressed her nose against the windowpane, gloomily watching as the rain continued to fall... and fall... and fall. Lisa sighed, "Dad, I wish the rain would just go away, so I can go outside and play." "But sweetheart," replied Lisa's father, "We need the rain so that the flowers and the trees can grow."

Perhaps we do need the "rain"... the gray times in our lives ... for if we have trust in the Creator of all things, we realize that when the rain stops and the sun breaks through the clouds, we, too, shall have grown stronger as our soul blossoms with our faith in God.

Though our faith is strong, being human, we may, at times, need temporary respite from the storm. Seek shelter in the house of the Lord, as His house is "founded upon the rock". (Matt.7:25) We need not fear the rain. Scnpture* Selected by The Amencen B*4* Society Copyright 1M7 Ke*ier W*i*ma Newapeper Service*. P O Boa «OOS, Ch*rtOtt**viU*. VA 2290#
