There is another gentleman I had the pleasure of meeting who is related to Ben and Bill, whose name is Luther Johnson. Luther just had his 100th birthday. He was brother to James Johnson, who was the husband of Sally Dwyer, half-sister of Benton Dwyer.
I met Luther Johnson quite by accident, or should I say that fate had a hand in it. Whichever the case may be, I had gone in a book store in Bolivar looking for something on the history of the area. The lady in the store directed me to the Electric Company. A fellow by the name of Jack Glendening was supposed to have some things. I walked on down there and waited while Jack was busy with some customers buying light fixtures and what not and then began telling him what I wanted. I told him of visiting with Benton Dwyer. Soon an old fellow comes in and Jack and Mr. Carl Locke (also present when I first arrived) says to him, “hi Luther.” Needless to say I sort of had an uncany feeling when I first saw him. As conversation continued, Jack says, “Luther you were related to the Dwyers’ weren’t you?” Then the story of how his brother James had married Sally, Ben’s halfsister. Luther remembered Lucy Compton Dwyer quite well, and also
