over 30 years. He had lived in Leesburg for thirty plus years. He recently received a 50 year pin for membership in Unity Lodge .146 A.F. & A.M. in Front Royal. He enjoyed raising tomatoes and sharing them with his neighbors and friends. He also grew spectacular roses in his yard. After his retirment he worked part time at the VICA Center near Leesburg maintaining the heating and air conditioning equipment.
Mr. Slaughter was the husband of the late Mildred M. Slaughter, who died Aug. 1, 1987.
He is survived by Cecil H. Metcalf, a brother-in-law of Antioch, W.Va., Wallace W. Metcalf, a brother-in-law of Brunswick, Md., Wanda W. Metcalf, a sister-in-law of Brunswick, Md. and Aubrey Keyser, a brother-in-law of Washington.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 9 at the Loudon Funeral Chapel in Leesburg. Interment was in Brownsville Cemtery in Brownsville, Md.

Ruth Corbitt
Ruth Mays Corbitt died June 5 in Orange County Nursing Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Frances M. Semones of Amissville; three grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 8 at Moser Funeral Home by the Rev. Peter Weems and the Rev. Dwight Mays.
