July Celebration and Super Flea Market to take place around the Rappahannock Library, Washington, Va., 10 to 5 o’clock, Tuesday, July 4. “There will be something for everyone on that day,” says Peggy Pryde, chairman of volunteers, both for young and older — good food served by the ladies of the Hopewell Baptist Church, and at 1:30 an Independence Day Program in the ground old manner, entitled ‘America Sings,’ besides the many shops and street stalls.”
Two chartered buses will leave the county around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, with 4-H’ers, parents and friends to tour Mt. Vernon, Great Falls and an Arabian Horse Farm returning around 5:30 p.m. the same day. A few seats on the bus are still available.
If interested in going along, contact Ruby Jenkins, Secretary of the Extension Office, 675-3619 before 5 p.m. Friday, June 16. The entire cost will be $5.50 which includes the bus fare, tour of Mt. Vernon, insurance and a drink. Bring your lunch.
