Gay and Main streets the vote was 24 in favor of the Acorn fixture (installed in front of the Clopton House on Main Street), nine for the Trimblehouse fixture that looks something like the existing lights, and two for the Cobra arm fixture that Potomac Edison carries in stock.
Opinion was far more divided on which lights to install on the side streets, with 15 wanting the Acorn fixture, 17 opting for the Trimblehouse light and three for the Cobra arm.
The discussion on the light issue ranged from who really sets the electric rates for the street lights, on to the type and size of bulb, then to placement and quan-' tity of fixtures (with several references to a possible engineering study of actual needs), then returning like a refrain to historical accuracy, before continuing on the cost of thd fixtures and the ongoing maintenance. .
It was a lively discussion. ;
