SHARE delivery day

The November delivery day for SHARE is 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Washington Baptist Church. All participants should pick up their groceries at this time.

A donation of not more than $1 will be appreciated on delivery day to defer the cost of gas for the two men who drive each month to pick up the groceries. Participants should also bring their community service vouchers and $13 in cash or food stamps to sign up for December.

Library series to continue

On Dec. 4 the Rappahannock Library’s First Friday Series, in association with the Historical Society, presents “Down From the Mountains,” a program that will examine life in the Blue Ridge Mountains before the existence of Shenandoah National Park and the effects of the Park’s creation on those who had to move. The program is at 8 p.m. with refreshments to follow. Admission is free.

Pancake breakfast

The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor an allyou-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7 a.m.-12 noon on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the fire hall. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, fried potatoes, gravy, juice, coffee and milk. Cost is adults $5, children six to 12 $3 and five and under free.

Boosters to meet

The Rappahannock Athletic Boosters Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23 at the Rappahannock High School. For more information call Carl Payne at 987-8148 or the high school at 987-8575.

Christmas bazaar

The Child Care and Learning Center will be sponsoring its annual Christmas bazaar from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Center. Pictures with Santa will be taken from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Also featured will be a childrens’ shopping room, jingle rides, craft sales, white elephant sale, other rummage sales and a bake sale. A handmade quilt will be raffled off. Call 675-3237 for more information.
