west of Sperry ville on Nov. 11 went awry. According to the report filed by Trooper C.M. Hodges, Thomas Hawkins, 50, of Virginia Beach was eastbound in a 1985 Ford pickup truck.
Hawkins apparently tried to pass a tractor-trailer rig driven by Ben Horn, 30, of Dover, Fa., justas the semi slowed to turn left into Parkway. Hawkins ran off the road on the left side and struck a telephone booth, causing an estimated $2,000 damage to his truck.
The split rig was not damaged. Trooper Hodges charged Horn with making an improper turn.
Two persons were injured on Route 707, one mile west of Route 231 on Nov. 9. Sgt. Morris reported that a 1988 Pontiac driven by Jessi Ward, 34, of Fredericksburg collided with a 1991 Ford pickup truck driven by George Caperton, 35, of Culpeper.
Ward and a passenger in the Pontiac, Gary McNutt, 42, were injured and taken to the hospital.
