Livestock belonging to Charles Currence of Flint Hill was killed Saturday, according to Sheriff John Henry Woodward.
The incident occurred on Route 641 near the Aileen plant. Woodward said he did not know yet how the cow was killed, but the hind quarters were cut off and carried away.
The only other crime report of note, Woodward said, was the theft of building materials from Troy Bruce on Nov. 10. Bruce is building a new structure behind what was the Hampton Inn, Woodward said.
The Virginia State Police reported three automobile accidents on county roads over the past week.
According to the accident report filed by Trooper S. M. Knick, the Dodge suffered minor damage and the Chevrolet about $!,500 worth. The minor was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
