CONTROL LAW Public Notice No.: VA-NRO-l-0348 First Public Notice Issue Date: November 19,1992 The Virginia State Water Control Board has under consideration issuance ol the following Permit and State Certificate: Permit No : VA0087581 Name of Permittee: Town of Washington Facility Name: Town of Washington Water Treatment plant Facility Location: Harris Hollow Road (route (611), Washington Permittee Address; 44 Canal Center Plaza, Room 400, Alexandria, Virginia 22314 Flow: 0.0006 MGD Receiving Stream: Rush River Basin: Rappahannock River Subbasih: None Section: 4 Class: III Special Standards: q Discharge: Proposed Industrial Discharge Resulting from bachwashing of two green sand filters used in the potable water treatment process. The proposed issuance consists of establishing limits for Flow, Total Suspended Solids, pH, and Chlorine. This proposed issuance is tentative. On the basis of preliminary review and application of lawful standards and regulations, the Virginia State Water Control Board proposes to issue the permit subject to certain conditions.
Persons may comment in writing to the Board on the proposed issuance of the permit within 30 days from the date of the first notice. Comments shall include the name, address, and telephone number of the writer, and shall contain a complete, concise statement of the factual basis for the comments. Only those comments received within this period will be considered by the Board. The Board may, upon request or upon its own motion, decide to hold a public hearing if it determines that public response is significant.
