asked Ms. Chabot to prepare a plan of flow the additional work will be handled and a way to distribute the cost of the total between the town, the WSA and the schools.
Mayor Willis noted the council meets this Wednesday. He said he was eager to get the treatment plant operating. They agreed they could call a special meeting with both Town Council and the WSA to work out an agreement.
Ms. Chabot stayed to discuss problems at the Sperryville plant. She said they had received additional notices of violation from the Department of Environmental Quality because scheduled repairs of the collection system have not been completed. The WSA agreed to surveyn the distribution system and make repairs to prevent storm water inflow as part of the consent decree agreed to when the plant was found in violation before Ms. Chabot was hired.
She said the plant continues to get inflow from storm water. She said the Department of Environmental quality may order the WSA to put in a 55,000 gallon holding tank to handle this inflow.
The WSA voted to immediately hire the part2Dtime worker for all holidays and weekends so Mr. Jenkins can concentrate on getting the repairs made. They agreed to help locate areas of inflow when the next heavy rains come. They said they do not want to have to install the holding tank, which could force the authority to borrow money, since it is expected to cost more than reserves.
Earlier the WSA agreed to reserve sewer rights for six months for a couple from Page County who wish to purchase an existing lot next to Tom Von Fange’s furniture shop and build a two2Dstory building with a residence upstairs and a retail business in the ground floor. Member Carson Johnson said that would require three EDUs (equivalent to a dwelling unit) twp for the business and one for the residence.
