RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR JOHNNY RAY PULLEN *
WHEREAS. Johnny Ray Pullen served as the principal employee of the Town of .1 , Washington. Virginia, with responsible dedication from 1979 to 1995: and *
WHEREAS. Johnny Ray Pullen provided maintenance to all areas of the Town to . J include maintaining the public areas of the Town through mowing and trimming, leaf raking, and similar grounds maintenance tasks; ensuring maintenance of Town property ; through making repairs, painting items as reguired, and performing other general maintenance: maintaining the cleanliness of the Town through pickup of trash; ensuring the equipment of the Town was repaired through his personnel effort and through 1 obtaining contractor support; providing maintenance and construction support for the Town's buildings; and generally maintaining the Town to a standard that makes us proud 1 to live in Washington. Virginia, and
WHEREAS. Johnny Ray Pullen managed the operations of the water system of the Town of Washington, to include: ensuring that chlorine was added to the system each day. .t no matter what the weather; testing the Town water to meet Department of Health ; requirements; maintaining the water distribution system through repairs to meters, hydrants, valves, and pipes, often during nights and weekends; responding to emergencies J produced by broken pipes: flushing the system as needed; procuring all materials required for the system’s operation; and generally ensuring that the Town was provided with safe ' and sufficient water, both during routine periods and during critical periods of changeovers to new wells; and
WHEREAS. Johnny Ray Pullen made significant contributions to the recent upgrade of the water system by: working closely with the contractor to ensure all existing piping and connections were addressed; personally installing and connecting new meters to J interface the new system to customers, saving the Town the cost of having the contractor 1 do a significant amount of this work; and obtaining materials required for the connection 7 effort; and ]
WHEREAS, Johnny Ray Pullen established an invaluable working relationship with the County which provided for mutual maintenance support in many areas, to include the development of a maintenance and storage facility; and . j
WHEREAS. Johnny Ray Pullen did all these things for fifteen years with quiet 1 efficiency that added immeasurably to the quality of life of all the citiiens of the Town; 4 now, therefore, be it _ "*
