Rappahannock Newt SUIT Writer • Block scheduling will be coming to Rappahannock County High School in the fall of 1996, but the particular form it will take is still up in the air.
A committee of teachers, administrators, two high school students and citizens has heard presentations from representatives of two high schools that have started block scheduling. Last month representatives from Osborn High School in Manassas talked about the alternating day schedule they adopted. Last Thursday representatives from Brunswick High School in Frederick, Md., talked about the semester system of block scheduling they adopted.
Under either system of block scheduling students would take only four classes each day, and they could take eight in a year. With the alternating day schedule, students would take four classes one day and four different classes the next day. The days alternate throughout the year.
