Department hang portraits he painted of Secretaries of State James Baker and Lawrence Eagleburger. For his own enjoyment, Mr. Bittinger does portrait drawings of people right here in Rappahannock County.
A show of his paintings from the book just finished at Capricorn Galleries in Bethesda.
The Dec. 4, 1994 issue of Publishers ’ Weekly carried a review of the book and said, “Bittinger’s background as a portrait painter shines throughout the luminous holiday scenes in his picture book debut.”
Locally, the book is available at Cabin Fever Books in Washington and at Barnes & Noble in Charlottesville. It is also carried in all major bookstores, said Mr. Bittinger. He is donating a copy of the book to the Rappahannock County Library.
