Fingerprinting for children (over the age of two is best) will be done by Capt. Jeff Brown of the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Department. The Department of Social Services will have a representative to talk about child abuse prevention. Other groups involved will be the Fauquier Free Clinic, Cancer Society (will have applications for the Relay for Life team), Family Guidance Services, Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL), and Friends to Mom, a group which provides support and classes for teenage mothers.
On display will be health posters from a contest for RCES fourth, fifth and sixth grade art students. The artist with the winning poster will receive a copy of the book Arabian Nights, donated by Susan Parrish of Cabin Fever Books, and second place will receive a $10 gift certificate from Walmart.
From 2 to 4 p.m.Dr. Johnny Clarke of Luray will give rabies shots to cats and dogs for $6. Pet owners are encouraged to make sure their pets’ rabies shots are done, as it is the law. An exhibit about rabies by Allison Lurie of the Health Department will be on display.
