What do you have that you no longer need? Just about everyone must have something like that. You can turn that liability into an asset by letting the Rappahannock Lions Club recycle it for a neighbor who needs it.
The annual Lions Auction is an all-county affair always well attended by the community. It draws scores of eager bidders from neighboring counties as well.
The 13th of May can be a lucky day. Someone can get a real bargain by bidding on what you’ve donated. If the Lions’ good luck continues we will raise the money required to keep on serving the many needs of the community. That kind of “recycling” has always made a lot of sense.
You may not have any idea what you have that you could donate. What about all those items that you meant to give the Lions lastj year, or the year before? How about a little Research and Development program? Would you schedule a few minutes to research your personal inventory of things you can most easily do without? The development phase of the program starts when you call your designated Lion driver to come around for a pickup. Or maybe you can even deliver the donations to us yourself.
The Lion Auction has another way to make the 13th of May your lucky day. Each club member has an adequate supply of raffle tickets, a dollar a chance; 25 chances for only $20. First prize is $300, second prize is $200 and third prize if a Bulova office clock.
Lion Bill Payne keeps the auction moving with fun and excitement like real pros always do.
For any additional information you can call the auction chairman Roger Andrews at 937-8974 or cochair Hollie Pendleton at 987-8627. Remember the date - Saturday, May 13 at the Washington Fire Hall, starting at 6 p.m. and going on until everything is sold. Come early and have dinner. We sell food too.
