The five-county area CommunityConcert Association announces its subscription drive has begun tor the 1995-1996 season of five attractions at the Culpeper County High School.
The association’s twenty-sixth >ear will again feature artists from around the world and open at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 with Georgia Michaels who will be heard in show tunes, country , and pop hits from the 30s and 40s plus.
Next will be the Vivaldi Orchestra of Moscow at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27 with 19 young women play ing beloved classical music. On Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p m. six virtuosi called Rhythm and Brass will be heard in baroque music to jazz. On Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1996 at 7:30 p.m. is The Magic of Ballroom featuring a 15 member big band and exhibition ballroom dancers from the Fred Astaire Studio.
Finally, in a program especially tor the family, musicomedian Dale Gonyea will use his classical pianism to propel parodies, tales and ludicrous humor in the style of the famed Victor Borge.
A season subscription also includes tree admission, based on available seats, to nearby reciprocal CCA’s events. In Manassas will be Brenda Boozer (versatile mezzosoprano), David Allen Webr (classical piano). The Cassidys (Irish songs), and the Xavier Cugat Orchestra. Fairfax will have Rhythm and Brass, Dancer of the Ukraine, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and the Hambro Piano Quartet.
Admission to all of these 13 concerts is by season subscription ticket only as no individual tickets can be sold for nay one event. These are sent by mid-August'with final dates and direction to each high school.
