By SHARON KILPATRICK

Members of the Washington .Town Council learned last Wednesday they will have to readvertise their budget for the coming year because they over estimated expected '' fhftasTrdWtbe meals'and lodging tax. 1*

Attorney Frank Reynolds advised them the budget wits “wrong” and would have to be readvertised for a public hearing on Wednesday June 21 with adoption scheduled for June 28.

However, they went ahead with the public hearing on the recently advertised budget. Diane Bruce took them line by line through the budget, asking them what each line was expected to be used for and frequently urging them not to spend the money.

In many cases Mayor Stewart Willis said the line items had been carried over from previous budgets and he did not anticipate spending as much as the budget included.
