With less than a month to go, artists and crafts people throughout the state are preparing their wares to display at their booths during Washington’s 20th annual Fourth of July celebration.
Among local artists, Jennifer. Greene will be showing her handmade jewelry and Indian jewelry and carvings; Eric and Davette Kvarnes will have on display handweaving, glass and watercolors; and Stephanie Nova will be displaying macrame jewelry embellished with semi-precious stones.
Anne Newbold (Newbie) Richardson, a professional costume historian and textile conservator from Alexandria, said she is looking forward to being a part of this year's celebration. Her booth will have on display period costumes and furniture for dolls sized to Fit the popular 18 inch American Girl Doll Collection from the Pleasant Company. She said she offers “historically accurate outfits designed to teach as well as provide hours of creative play.”
