William Fincham
William Wade Fincham, 89, of Manassas, formerly of Remington, died on Thursday, June 8 at his residence.
He was the son of the late James Luther and Homie Catherine Jenkins Fincham, and a native of Rappahannock County.
He was a former and a member of Hazel River Assembly of God Church at Rixeyville.
He is survived by a son, Michael Kerns of Culpeper; five daughters, Lula Clifton of St. Petersburg, Fla., Irene Owens and Patricia Keyser, both of Culpeper, Janie Doggett of Morrisville and Ethel Keyser of Manassas; 30 grandchildren; 52 greatgrandchildren and four great-greatgrandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Elizabeth Catherine Fincham and eight children, Harrison Fincham, Virginia Ruane, Homie Jenkins, Leroy Fincham, Frank Fincham, Lucy Margaret Fincham, William Thomas Fincham and Wade Henry Fincham.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 10 at Hazel River Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Steve Dodson officiating.
Interment followed in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were Charles Fincham, Harrison Fincham, Johnny Fincham, Mark Burnam, Lewis Dwyer and Harold Jenkins Jr.
Geest Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
Elmer Hickerson
Elmer Daniel Hickerson, Sr, 81, of Chester Gap died on Sunday, June 11 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at TurnerRobertshaw Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Sterling and Rev. Christian Andes officiating.
Interment will be in the Willis Chapel Cemetery at Huntly.
Full Military Honors will be held in the Willis Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Hickerson was bom Jan. 26, 1914, in Warren County, the son of the late Charles Douglas and Lucy Sealock Hickerson. He was a retired construction worker. Served with the U.S. Army during World War 11 as a Sargent and Fire Chief attached to the 8th Air Force.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Wines Hickerson of Chester Gap; one son, Elmer Daniel Hickerson, Jr. of Chester Gap; two brothers, Charles Hickerson of Flint Hill and Rayburn Hickerson of Front Royal; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Active pallbearers are Jerry Allen Williams, Buck Williams, Sonny Williams, Tommy Williams, Frankie Campbell and Jeff Williams.
Honorary pallbearers are Dean Holdaway, Lawrence Williams, Donald Wayne Williams, Billy Wines, Lovel Walker and Albert Wines.
