formed in Love Letters Valentine’s Day week with Jo Lenig. “I love to perform in dramas and some comedies and definitely period pieces, but I am not a singer so I don't have compelling reason to be in this. That helps. I don’t feel conflicted by my desire to perform. I can’t wait to get started on the directing of it. I expect I’ll be wanting to perform after I’ve taken a couple months off when The Music Man is finished. It takes a lot of energy to put something like this together. Just ask Grahame Henson!”
Henson directed the last full scale musical Windmore had done in 1993. Oliver! was a huge success. “I hope I can repeat Grahame’s success. He was able to pull in performers and audiences from as far away as Manassas and Fredericksburg. Musicals have almost a cult following in that musical performers will go a long way to be in one and aficionados will go a long way to see one. They are very satisfying to both performer and audience member.”
Anyone between the ages of 9 and 90 interested in working on The Music Man is encouraged to come to auditions. “We need lots of people to work on this show'. The cast alone consists of nearly 50 people. We’ll still need make-up people, stage crew, etc. Auditions were scheduled at the beginning of the summer primarily so the costumers can get started because they have such a big job. All I need is people who are willing to work hard and have a little fun too."
