Gladys Smoot

Gladys Virginia Smoot, 77, of Front Royal, died Thursday, June 8 at Montvue Nursing Home in Luray.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 11 at the TurnerRobertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. James H. Showers Jr.

Burial was in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Smoot was born March 3, 1918, in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late Tom and Sarah Liza Foster Riley.

She was the wife of the late Edley Smoot.

Surviving are two sons, Walter A. Smoot and Robert L. Smoot, both of Front Royal; three brothers. Tinker Riley and Lewis Riley, both of White Post and Floyd Riley of Warrenton; a sister, Rixey Frye of Flint Hill; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ronald Taylor, Barry Kidwell, Tommy Dawson, Allen Johnson, Keith Dawson and Shane Kidwell.

Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Poe, Charles Lake, Irvin Rinker, Stuart Rudacille and Ott Baker.
