Windmore Foundation for the Arts is pleased to announce the dates for the upcoming musical production of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man.

Audition dates are at 2 p.m. on Saturday June 24 and Sunday, June 25 and at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 26 at the Culpeper County High School. Auditions will consist of readings and singing from the Music man script.

The performances will take place at the Culpeper County High School on Nov. 3, 4, 5, 10 and 11. For more information call 547-2555.

“People have been stopping me on the street for months now asking about auditions, I’m glad we’ve finally set a date,” said Stafford. “The Music Man really touches a chord in people. No pun intended. It is the quintessential American musical. People walk out of the theatre humming and singing "76 Trombones” or “Marian the Librarian” or “Lida Rose.” That is why I chose to direct it.”

Stafford has more than a passing interest in this particular show, “I come from middle American having been bom in Ohio, but interestingly enough my mother is from Iowa. I still have a lot of family there. Music Man takes place in Iowa. I even saw a cousin perform in The Music Man while I was visiting him in Iowa. So you can see show much it means to me on many different levels.”
