Under the new law they will be required to have a master or journeyman card issued by the Board for Contractors, which is administered by, the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, in order to obtain building or work permits from any local building official. ;All
tradesmen who currently have a master or journeyman card issued by the Department of Housing and Community Development or their .local county govememt will need to exchange their current card for the new card issued by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. This “card swap” will extend through July 1.
