This year’s Fourth of July celebration is being coordinated by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community (RAAC). According to Eileen Day, co-chairperson of the RAAC vendor committee, nearly 40 artists and crafts people have signed up to display their work this year.

“RAAC would like to remind our visitors once more that the S2 per car or $1 per person entry fee covers the expenditures necessary to stage this event,” said Fawn Evenson, a RAAC board member and manager of publicity for the Fourth of July event. RAAC must pay for all the things necessary to ensure a smooth running, large celebration.

This fee covers everything from portable sanitation facilities for the thousands of guests, to the postage and publicity necessary to promote it for the many community-based, nonprofit organizations that will be raising money for their various causes that day.
