The Vision
To the Editor:
I would like to encourage all community members who have an interest in the well-being of Rappahannock to participate in some way in the forthcoming “envisioning” process which is being initiated at 7:30 p.m. on June 21 in the county courthouse with the Planning Commission.
If unable to attend’this event, please write and/or call members of the Planning Commission, the Board of Supervisors and the Zoning Administration office with ideas, concerns and,suggestions.
I would also like to applaud the efforts of community members, organizations, elected and appointed officials and others from outside the immediate Rappahannock community who have, over the years and especially in recent weeks, put much of their time, energy, heart and soul into preserving the unique character of Rappahannock County. Thank goodness your heads have not been buried in the sand!
Two “unofficial” event which are also taking place on the 21st and to which all are invited are an informal bring-your-own lunch at the park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to talk about envisioning ideas like bike trails, walking trails and other recreational and educational programs and a sunrise silent prayer and meditation for the harmony and well-being of the community on Red Oak Mountain at 5:30 a.m.
