Member Ray Gooch said he agreed it is important for the council to commit to eventually installing a sewer system. He said sewer is “at the top of the list” of concerns Trinity Episcopal Church has about staying in town.
By the end of the meeting council members agreed to cut various line items, to set aside $5,000 in a reserve for a new fire truck and ask the board of directors of the fire department for information on what they want an additional $8,000 for. They had agreed to set aside at least $15,000 in a reserve for the sewer system, and to put more in a general fund reserve.
Following an extensive/discussion of the budget, the council adopted resolutions to seTl bonds and accept a grant for extensions to the water system.

Lockwood, and its resistance to any entrance into Maryland other than on the U.S. 15 corridor at Point of Rocks, is complicating the western version.
“Maryland has basically taken a very hard stand that they can only support a crossing at Point of Rocks,” he said. “Loudoun thinks that there should be a study of eastern entrances.”
