Flower picking has been going on all over the county for some weeks as onq element in the 10month long effort by the local Episcopal Church Women to stage the two-day Rappahannock House Tour and Dried Flower Sale that has been presented for 39 years on the third weekend in October.
To stage this popular event the ECW planning starts in February with committee appointments, selection of flowers to be grown and their quantity, and houses to be selected for showing. Next comes the raising of the flowers followed by their being picked and dried.
