It has become such a part of everyone’s routine that if someone is not coming, they will call, said Mrs. Fannon.

“Having the store has been an experience that I would never have had, but I would not have missed it for anything. There are so many wonderful people,” said Mrs. Fannon.

“Down Under Laurel Mills Store is run by Charles and Paige Coombs, residents of Laurel Mills, and is open on weekends. It is stocked with many reasonably-priced antiques, ranging from quilts to pottery, china and furniture. Mr. Coombs’ woodworking is also on display.

Laurel Mills Store is located on Route 618 near Castleton, a mile or so from Route 729. It is open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
