Jenny Springer will be teaching English to all seventh graders and also teaching one section of reading and one of social studies. This is her first year as a teacher. She graduated from Mary Washington College with a major in English.
“This is a wonderful county, small and beautiful, and the school system is excellent,” she said. “I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. Originally from Virginia Beach, she is living in Front Royal.
Darcy Dillingham will be teaching sixth and seventh grade special education in a modified self-contained classroom, teaching some of everything with the students also attending some regular classes.
She graduated from Brigham Young University with a major in special education and taught in Utah for one year.
She was scheduled to interview for a job in Rappahannock County and did not know where it was. The weekend before she came through on a trip to hike Old Rag Mountain and was surprised to find herself back the next week for the interview. “I love it,” she said. “ I feel there is a strong sense of community here.” She is living in Warrenton.
Carolyn Eline is the county’s first official school nurse. She worked as a school nurse at Randolph Macon Academy for two years.
A Rappahannock native, she said she is looking forward to working with the county’s children.
