was struck by a 1984 Ford pickup driven by Bernard Garfield Steed, 23, of Front Royal. Mr. Heflin had made a left on Route 641 off of U.S. 522 in Flint Hill when Mr. Steed-tried to pass the tractor on a double solid line. His car struck the front of the tractor. No injuries were reported, but Mr. Steed’s truck sustained $2,500 damage and he was charged by Trooper Sean Knick with passing on a double solid line. The tractor was undamaged.
Last Wednesday about noon, a 16 year-old female driving a 1994 Jeep 4-door swerved to avoid a deer, struck an embankment and overturned. The accident occurred on Route 729 in Ben Venue, .7 of a mile south of U.S. 522. The Jeep sustained $3,000 damage, but no injuries were reported. No charges were filed in the case, which was investigated by Trooper Wayne Sumner.
Judith Lee Wolf, 36, of Bowling Green was charged with reckless driving in a one-car accident which took place last Friday at 6:10 p.m. She was driving a 1991 Ford 4-door on U.S. 211 in Amissville, east of Route 643, when the car ran off the road and struck an embankment. Trooper Sumner charged Ms. Wolf with reckless driving.
