Eugene McFarland

Eugene Snead McFarland, 45, of Sperryville died Saturday, Aug. 19 at his residence.

He was bom Nov. 11, 1949, in Rappahannock County.

He is survived by his father and mother, Willie and Lois Leake McFarland of Sperryville; a twin sister, Joan, Broyles of Culpeper; two sisters, Betty Grigsby of Woodville and Peggy Ann Tharp of Castleton and a brother, James Lewis McFarland of Washington.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas William McFarland.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at Geest Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper with interment in Fairview Cemetery.

The Rev. Carl Menefee and the Rev. John Burke officiated.

Pallbearers were Busier Hitt, Nelson Jenkins, Ebbie Bennett, Netus Dodson, John Shelingham and Randolph Clater.

Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Buraker, Carroll Snead Settle, Rocky Foster, Billy Atkins, Steve Baldwin and Junior Leake.

Geest Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
