The Board of Supervisors cut $36,000 from the proposed school budget for the coming year.
It will be up to the School Board to decide how to make the cuts, but the supervisors made it quite clear where they want the cuts to come — $30,000 from not appointing anyone to the position of Supervisor of Facilities, including fringe benefits for the position, and $6,000 from not contracting for dumpsters at both schools arid the central office.
First the supervisors voted 3 to 2 to adopt the budget by the bottom line, rather than by categories. Hampton District representative Mike Massie made the motion to adopt the budget by categories, and Jackson District representative Ron Frazier seconded the motion.
